Since launching in 2010, TechCamps led by the U.S. Department of State have taken place in over
12 countries. These camps have not only empowered activists from hundreds civil society organizations and NGOs around the world that are addressing crucial social needs, but have also served as powerful platforms for people and communities in these countries to connect and collaborate. In this round-up of Impact Stories, we bring to you a few examples.
Following the success of TechCamp Mumbai, the U.S. Consulate General, Mumbai and Microsoft Corporation have jointly announced a Grand Challenge for the participating NGOs. The Challenge ensures that the NGOs get access to not only the expertise in the area, but also to financial resources to implement technological solutions. A total of US $15,000 will be given to between 5 and 6 lucky NGOs to help them adopt technology to improve or expand their operations.
You may download guidelines, application form, and a budget template by clicking on the links below. Only NGOs who attended TechCamp Mumbai are eligible to apply.
